The Free allowance is one time, not monthly. It is what you get to try
Nexus with; it does not refill. Every paid plan refills each billing period.
What a credit is
One credit is $0.05 of model usage. You are charged for what a request actually consumes, so cost varies with the model, the size of your prompt, and how much the agent has to reason — a short question costs a fraction of a credit, a long CAE debugging session costs many. Because it is measured rather than counted, there is no fixed “number of messages” a plan buys. The usage page shows what you have spent and what is left.How the monthly allowance works
Your allowance is not a wallet that gets topped up on the 1st. It is measured across a rolling billing period that starts on the day you subscribed. Nexus adds up what you have spent since your period began and compares it to your plan’s allowance. When your period rolls over, that start date moves forward and the earlier spend falls outside the window — which is what makes the allowance available again. Two consequences worth knowing:- Unused allowance does not accumulate. Spending 50 credits in a 300-credit month does not give you 550 the next month. The window moves; it does not carry a balance.
- Your reset day is your signup day, not the first of the month. Subscribe on the 14th and your allowance refreshes on the 14th.
Going past your allowance
Buy a credit pack — 300 credits for $20, the same rate as Core. Packs are available on any paid plan. Unlike the monthly allowance, purchased credits are a balance: they sit on your account, they are only ever drawn down by usage, and they do not expire. Nexus uses your monthly allowance first and only draws on purchased credits once it is spent.Credit packs are not available on Free. Upgrade to Core or higher first.
Bring your own key
Professional and Enterprise can point Nexus at your own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, in Settings → Model & provider. Traffic sent with your own key does not pass through Nexus, so it costs you nothing from your allowance — you are billed by the provider directly. This is usually the reason to choose Professional over Core if you already hold model credit with a provider. On Free and Core the provider is fixed to Cosmon-hosted models.Teams
A team buys licences, and an owner or admin assigns each one to a person. Licences come in the same tiers as personal plans, and a person holding one gets that tier’s capabilities — including BYOK on Professional and Enterprise.The allowance is shared

Reassigning a licence does not reset anything. The allowance belongs to the licence tier, not to the person holding it — so if a team has spent 95% of its Professional pot, the next holder starts with the remaining 5%.If you are on a team
Your licence comes from your team, so the plan on your personal account stays free. You do not need a personal subscription, and buying one would not add anything: while you hold a licence, that is what Nexus serves.
